Course Information

Accounting serves as a fundamental function in any business organisation, providing the basis for generating financial reports crucial for informed and effective decision-making by managers in their daily operations. It is imperative that personnel joining the accounts department possess practical basic accounting skills and knowledge to discharge their responsibilities efficiently.

The introduction of SST after GST necessitates the careful treatment of accounting transactions to comply with reporting to Customs. Therefore, our Basic Accounting training workshop is designed to equip all personnel, whether current members or aspiring entrants to the Accounting Department, with the necessary fundamental skills and knowledge. This training aims to ensure they can discharge their responsibilities efficiently and effectively in light of the evolving landscape introduced by SST.

Course Objective

  • Applying the accounting fundamentals from the beginning of business transactions to the preparation of financial statement
  • Respond to monthly accounting adjustment requirements in compliance with the accounting concepts, standards and policies requirements and accounting double entries.
  • Display matching concept in transaction processing and process reconciliation statements
  • Measure and analyse the difference between actual results with that of the budget and standards. 
  • Share and explain the basic financial performance to peers and immediate superior

Who Should Attend?

Office Assistants and Clerks, Accounts Assistants and Clerks, Accounts Executives, fresh graduates entering into accounting functions, and school and college leavers interested in joining the accounting jobs.

Course Trainer: Mr Tan Kok Tee

With over 42 years of experience in financial, strategic, and general management, Kok Tee is a seasoned professional. He has served in leadership roles, including as Group Chief Executive Officer. Since 2014, Kok Tee has been a full-time trainer, conducting over 500 workshops and training more than 25,000 participants in subjects such as GST, SST, Accounting, Finance, Costing, and more.

His training extends to diverse organizations, including government bodies, GLCs, political parties, and various private companies. Kok Tee's in-house training has benefited notable entities like Shin Yang Group, Bintulu Port, Deleum Bhd., Sime Darby Properties, and others. A Fellow member of the Association of International Accountants and the Institute of Public Accountants, Kok Tee holds multiple memberships and certifications, including a Gold Mastery in Reinventing Strategic Management. He is also a certified trainer with HRDC since 2009 and holds an MBA-Finance degree from Charles Sturt University.
